ABOUT US
African Men in Diaspora (AMID- UK) is an African Men social welfare community organisation in the UK that works with like-minded African organisations to promote African welfare and well-being.
We support African men in enhancing their health and socio-economic well-being.
We are a membership organisation that aims to deal with different challenges such as family, health, housing, social and or financial difficulties.
We do this through several projects such as running self-help programmes, individual and group counselling, debt and legal advice sessions and provision of temporary accommodation and other related support programmes.
OBJECTIVES
- Promote health and well-being of African men in the UK.
- To initiate and support projects that promote and empower African men and their families financially.
- To initiate and support advocacy campaigns that include policy changes that promote welfare and well-being of african men in the UK.
- To engage in programmes that fight social vices that are associated with the black community e.g. gang crime
- Promoting cultural identity among African community.
- To work with like- minded organisations that promote health and wellbeing of African men in the UK
- To support other community organisations who work with African men in their projects that promote health and wellbeing of africans in the UK and across the globe.
- To promote and support any other projects that promote health, welfare and wellbeing of african men in the UK and other parts of the world.
